The new mobile UI is just… bad. Here’s why

So where to start

Before this update, you were only at most a swipe and a tap away from seeing other sections of the app and it made it pretty nice to use. Now it feels like every time I am in a section, it’s all I can see and that I am missing out on other info. Where are the online people? Well, I have to check an entirely different page now and I can’t see the flow of the chat while doing so. Do I have DMs? Well I have to check a different page and I can’t see if I have unread servers while I am there. 
The former layout had a really cool way of showing information. This one now feels overwhelming.

The colors suck, they genuinely hurt my eyes, the former theme was more friendly. Is someone else having this issue?

I just don’t see the point of this update? What was it trying to achieve? It feels like an off brand whatsapp, and as someone who dirched that app for this one’s interface, this does not bide well for my willingness to keep using the platform. Who knows, might switch out for skype lmao.

    WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO THE SEARCH FUNCTION INSIDE SERVERS AND DMS. HOW DO I SEARCH PLAIN TEXT AND WHERE IT WAS SAID IN A CHAT.

    You're absolutely not the only person having these issues – anyone I know who's the slightest bit photosensitive struggles with the high contrast of the new themes, and the new menus are super obstructive and unintuitive. It's just bad UI design.

    Not the only one! I also made a feedback post about how bad the color palette is affecting my eyesight, I'm glad to see others bring up this concern as well. This update includes several ways of making their app inaccessible. What a greaaaat update, their best yet (sarcasm).

    Truly, I had a bad enough day already before I opened the app to find this hot garbage. And the fact that they forced the update is just infuriating. The whole thing is ableist to the extreme and horrifying to look at/use/navigate.
