More things about this new UI that make it terrible
First off, I want to say to everyone reading this: Remember when Discord started doing NFTs and everyone cancelled their Nitro to get Discord to get their act together, and it actually worked? I remember Discord desperately giving out “buy one get one free” deals for Nitro. We did it once, we can do it again to force Discord to get their heads out of their butts and stop being so smug.
Of course the worst part is that they removed the toggle that lets you revert to an older UI.
Using this new UI, I already hate it, but there are things that make me hate it more. There used to be a nice button to look at pinned messages. Now you have to search them up specifically.
The search function is ruined. Remember how it used to have these autofill options to help you find specific things like links and images from specific people? Now you have to search this all up MANUALLY.
This function is incredibly laggy, buggy and slow on my end as well. This is GARBAGE and I cannot exaggerate on how horrible this is.
When you search up image files, you no longer are able to see the images. You now only get messages that say they have an image file. “More accessible and user friendly” my god damn ASS.
My server has a verification system. I should be able to simply edit users to add a member role to their profile. But with this new UI, if someone's name is too long, the “save” button for their profile editing is now inaccessible and impossible to access.
Discord being so smug about this on Twitter is so scummy. No, Discord, this isn't because we “can't handle change". We aren't being whiny and sensitive, this new update has genuinely ruined so many things. It's slow, it's buggy, it's laggy. This isn't just a muscle memory ruining, thing, it genuinely has ruined the accessibility of the app. Of course I cancelled my Nitro because I am paying for an app to be useful.
Who approved this garbage? Did you morons hire Elon Musk to your site design team? On Twitter you tell people to just “get used to it”. You have no respect for your users or their opinions. You are idiots. You know why people moved to Discord from Skype? It's because Skype became garbage, and you are repeating those mistakes.
It is NOT a “new look”. It has genuinely changed and ruined the accessibility of Discord mobile. Seeing the overwhelming hate for your smugness and stupidity being this garbage update, it will be no surprise if you lose tons of money for not listening to user feedback and being a huge pack of idiots.

And also how the “share email” and “share phone number” toggles are ON, on DEFAULT, without notifying users. Great job sharing our personal information, Discord.
Luckily mine are turned off, but the same can't be said for my sister. She will turn the phone number toggle off, but then is given a popup that says she can't use Discord at all without giving them her phone number, which turns the “share number” toggle back ON.
Streaming is ruined on the app as well.
A small thing, with DMs, we used to be able to swipe left to see our other DMs, but could swipe right and get back to the DM we were just using. Now you have to re-select the DM every time you want to “swipe right”. The thing with DMs is a small gripe but is still annoying.

This is the main reason I cancelled my nitro. I love the features nitro gives me and am fully willing to pay for them given that the client is actually functional. Right now it's an inaccessible heap of garbage with a million bugs and poor design choices.

cideramese Yea that's just plain wrong… I even reported them on the play store for that shit… That is not a thing you turn on for people by default. Ruin the app for us and violate that boundary… hell no.
