App Update: Step in the Wrong Direction

The new update is simply less functional than the prior version. Features that used to be intuitive are now hidden behind layers of clicks.

One example of bad design: To view online users, you either need to have big hands, or hold your phone with two hands, as the button is at the very top of the screen.

This is a step in the wrong direction. The updated Discord app is just another instant messaging app. Discord is community, not just chat, and this update wholly fails to honor that principle.

I imagine Discord spent thousands of dollars designing the new UI, without even considering the old wisdom: “If it aint't broke, don't fix it.”
