Mobile Issue with images and video

I see images in posts that are cut off.  When I tap on the image, I'd expect the image to be scaled to fit on the screen and I could pinch zoom if there was part I can't see.  Instead the image kind of floats on the screen still cut off.  I can move the image around to see different parts of it, but it is cumbersome and I don't like it.  Guess it's back to reddit for viewing memes.  

Same thing happens for videos now.  They also float and I can't see the whole video.  I can only scroll around on it.

I'm on Samsung S23 Ultra.
