Change the Way Application Updates are Handled

The way Discord handles it's own updates, (Creating a new folder for each version in the main folder of the discord directory) is annoying to an extreme degree. It breaks Application shortcuts on my taskbar, start menu, and desktop. It's gotten to the point where I don't even make shortcuts anymore and instead just have a shortcut to the main discord folder “%localappdata%\discord” and then open the proper folder to find the current executable. So many other applications can update their software without breaking this simple useful function, So why can't Discord?
