Allow server admins to view the server from the point of view of different roles
Completada-
I made a second account, or I'd use my brother's account, for this. This would be a very nice feature to have when making servers or setting them up. Maybe going into the server settings, clicking Overview and having a little switch button saying "View server as a member." This switch button could give a special role (not just any role but a permanent one, and it's with your other roles but other server members can't see it, in case there are trouble makers in the server who wait to see such a role and cause trouble in channels that the owner cannot see for a moment, and it would be a golden, or regular shiny, role above your regular roles) This would be far easier for me as a double server owner.

Great suggestion !

Yeah, like in this thread, I'd LOVE to see a "View Server As..." function where you could view the server as a certain role.

Good idea!

This is a great idea. It could be an option that you see when you click an eye icon by the pins area, that says "View as:" with your server roles listed with check boxes allowing you to choose whichever and however many roles you want.

Been looking for this. Please add alliasing so we won't need to create dummy accounts to check server settings for different roles.

objectively useful feature. this would make role management a lot easier 0 -
Would be really useful for testing permissions, especially mutes. 1 -

I see that someone puts dislikes! I can’t do one more mail to make an alt account and it makes no sense that I don’t understand how the roles on the server work. 0 -
*server work for people 0 -
I believe Discord should do what YouTube did a long time ago with YouTube channels.
You have the ability to view a channel either as yourself, a new channel viewer or as a subscriber.I think that discord should add a feature in the server overview settings that would allow users to switch between a server view mode.
The setting would look something like this;

Came here to suggest this. It's hard to keep track of what roles are needed to view everything if i can't see it from the perspective of a normal account.

I mod two different servers and this feature would be highly appreciated

Would really help setting up a discord with multiple roles. There's an easy way using another account but a built in feature would be really great.

I need this so much. I always have to ask my server members for screenshots.

This NEEDS to exist, why doesn't it????

Please make this a thing. It would be extremely useful.

This would be super-duper useful for managing categories/channels! I agree with brxxn that it could be named something like "Role Preview Mode" or something similar.

This is a very good idea and would be nice to see implemented.

Come now Discord this useful feature has been requested thousands of times across various platforms and we still have no easy method of quickly verifying role changes without the hassle of bloating your system with dummy accounts or coordinating with people in real life to get some testing done. Please hear the begs from your community!

Wow, with how useful and popular this is, I'm at a loss as to why it isn't a thing yet :/ Won't claim to know how difficult it would be to code, but the importance of it for management is huge, regardless of whether you're a new server admin or a professional. Having the bit of security to verify without having a dummy account is a huge deal.

Pls discord... add this feature, I need it a lot and it's now been 2 YEARS... Pretty please?

What I did is I made a second account called Test Account and made a role called server tester. Then I put server tester at the top of the roles and enabled manage roles for that account. When I wanted to see something from a different point of view I would make it so I had that role and got all the permissions from the role.
