Yearly badges for time on discord.
-
Not everyone has gotten nitro so everyone who was gifted would. I think Discord wants to keep badges free and considering a year of nitro is 50$ USD, I don't think they want some users spending 50$ for a badge.

so far every badge has some specific function to it. Adding badge for basically nothing apart for paying would be.. obsolete since we already have nitro one that explicitly tells since when you have subscription -16 -
This.... is something that I don't think will ever happen. 1. It servers no purpose, cept a bought badge, even then, it serves no purpose. 2. Is there a need for it? I have not seen a need for this. If there was a need for it, I would think differently, but there is not one. <:sad:522087855879618560> 3. We already have a badge from subscribing, what else you want from it? Its good/perfect the way it is. -11 -
We don't particularly need more badges. Nitro/Hypesquad are sufficient to show you're supporting it right now, and it's mostly all that matters.
That and I personally don't want there to be a precedent to start having badge bloat.-10 -
Yeah it's would be cool.

Not a bad idea actually. 10 -
Nitro early supporter seems nice already tbh. But y'know, it would be cool if they could show your join date in your profile
8 -
I agree, it would be nice to see your join date somewhere.

A join date would be awesome, I’ve been using Discord for a long time and the bragging rights of being an early user would be great.

btw before a mod denies this i submitted this to emphasize the separate badge per year not a single badge like all the other yearly badge feedbacks

I'm hugely for this idea, I think it could be a great way for discord to show its support of its old users. Perhaps instead of a full on new tag though after one year on the platform your Hypesquad house tag gets an upgrade or something? and this happens every year? idk, just an idea 4 -
Why are you asking for this? Are you going to sell some old accounts? 🤔 -5 -
For what you need that ?
What is the point for discord ?
Why i want to know that ?Buy HypeSquad and Nitro if you want a badge.

Great suggestion.

I personally really like this idea and I hope it gets implamented sometime. I've been on discord for a good while, and I would like to have somthing that shows that. Maybe have a badge that you can only get based on the year that you joined?

Would be lovely to have
2 -
please no. there’s already too many badges -4 -
No. More. Badges.
-4 -
I'll be proud to show my badge.

Pls not a badge. It would be cool if there was a stats tab or something that had this info on it -5 -
This would be awesome!
I don't understand why half the comments are about payment when nothing was mentioned about payment.
I also don't understand why people would say "there's no point"... There's no point to any of the badges then...8 -
Yea it could be cool but maybe only with 2/3 versions (1y, 2y, 3y and 4y will remains the same as 3y)

That's a good feature Discord should copy from Xbox

@resynth1943 lol Xbox didn't invent it, they are one of many that have a similar feature.

Yes, I think this would be a great idea! A badge that shows a number indicating how long you've been on Discord. Whenever your Discord birthday comes around, the badge would update.

In just curious as to how this would work, would it be in your profile, display next to your name in chat, have it be a third option under mutual friends and mutual servers? 0 -
please add this

I feel like it would be better to just have a badge given to all users who have joined before midway 2017 or so. We have the early supporter badge for anyone who had Nitro before October 10th 2018. But some of us have been so active on Discord, switched to it as our primary chat source and supported it so much - yet we don't get noticed.
I don't want this turning into a rant so I'll just sum it up here. In a nutshell, I think that everyone who has used Discord before like March 2017 should get a badge too. Maybe the early supporter badge because, we still supported discord. Or maybe an "Early Wumpus" badge. Or something along those lines, if you get what I'm tryna say.
Discord badges are meant to be unique - with this idea, it gives everyone a badge, kinda making them valueless. But with a few tweaks, it could make the ones who supported Discord but not necessarily payed still feel like they are being appreciated. The only reason I'm saying March 2017 or before is so that not half the users get a badge.

Yeah i think that will be great !
