More status options than "Playing"

What I think would be cool is if we would be able to set our status to other things than just "playing *game*". So what I would like to see added is that when choosing your status (Online, Inactive, Do not disturb), there would be a drop down menu where you can choose things like "Cooking *food*, Watching *movie*, Having a *activity*. If no game is being played the choosen status would show instead of "playing game". Here are some ideas that could be featured: Cooking "pancakes" Watching "Rouge One" Having a "party" At "lunchbreak" Working with "After Effects" Creating "games" Looking to play "Battlefield 1" This is what it could look like: http://imgur.com/a/0iSgh

    this would be a really cool feature and also add support just like @nelly said adding something other than "playing" wold be a really great feature...!!! why isn't it a thing already lol

    I don't see why this shouldn't be made available. We already have "watching" (for bots) and "listening" (for spotify). Why shouldn't we be able to use them both manually, with our own parameters? If they're against TOS/CG, then what makes that any different than a violating "Playing" status?

    A better status system with more options would be cool. I don't necessarily have much to say on the matter because, frankly, it kind of speaks for itself. Is it necessary? Not really. Would it be nice to have? Heck yeah!

    Instead of "Playing" would be cool if you're "Working" on sublime text or something like that.

    Yes! I currently use EasyRP, but it is very very limiting in what i can say due to the "Playing" that im stuck with

    I reckon this would be a neat idea, Albeit the fact it is already sort of a thing with rich presence and custom game titles, they shouldn't force the "playing 'x'" status.

    But then again, discord may not care to add the feature. Or they'll make it a paid feature

    Yes! I'd really love to share the stuff I'm watching, reading, using, etc. with friends. Discord doesn't have to link it like Facebook does, just having the text would be good enough.

    the existing ones just tell you if they're online, idle or don't want to be disturbed

    new ones could be custom and be fun or wacky

    I strongly support this! I;m in some servers where a lot of people DM me randomly asking questions or for my opinion or help. I love being able to get the messages on my phone and stuff, but sometimes i can't reply and i end up with 5 people waiting on me and i feel like i need to click in and repeat myself to them like, "Sorry im at a family thing i'll reply later"!

    even i f i'm set offline they will message me and thats okay, i just hate feeling like im leaving them hanging. 

     

    If there was just a little message area where i could set "At a meeting, will reply at 5" or something, that would be so nice! "Away from desk, I'll reply soon!"
    "Driving right now, will not see message until 2pm!"

    things like that, it would create such a nice feeling of "Im not here, but I'm not ignoring you!" especially if people are having trouble and feel like no one is on to help.

    Just that people understand it: Don't remove "playing" or "listening to spotify" status, just add a third option.

    Though it is fun seeing your mates play "Substance Painter", "Blender" or watch myself "Playing Unreal Editor", it would be cool if we could just change this to something else, like "working in...", "fiddling in..." or the like.

     

    Discord has become much more than just a gamer's tool. It is used by a lot of developers as a replacement for Slack, for example.

    I'm sitting here trying to figure out why this isn't a thing already...

    Discord, you've got some incredible features already, and you churn out updates nearly every day. I can't imagine this would take more than a few minutes to add.

    Just give us the option to have a custom status as well as keeping the "Playing: ____" status there.

    i'm feeling a little bit bamboozled right now

    discord showed me a little help tooltip asking me to try out a custom status, so i set it to "e". a minute after that the status along with the menu option both disappeared.

    How does one allow/get this on other servers? 
    Or is it random or what?
    Because I literally cannot find anything more about this anywhere
