Pinned chat overlay color problem

Like the title says, I think there's a bug with text color with the overlay. I sent my friend a message earlier using the in-game pinned chat overlay (The permanently visible window you can have in a game), and I believed the message sent (it took a bit of time. It was gray, then became white).

It isn't until I looked using the normal client (I didn't receive a response from a friend) that I realized that the message had failed to send. It text appeared as white instead of red, so there was no indicator of it having failed. I believe this is a bug as names and "color formatted text", such as ```css``` still display color.
