Discord Mobile restarting when Force-Stopped on android 5.1.1

After force stopping discord in applications settings I continue to get notifications from the application about 3-5 minutes after doing so. This is unexpected behaviour and given I do not have unlimited phone data, unneccesarily costing me money.

Is there a way to turn off this "feature" or am I going to have to uninstall the app until the change is removed?

  You mean discord is still doing something while force stopped?

  Have you tried clearing the app cache? Maybe that'll do something.

  Clearing the cache seems to have stopped the issue, Discord is now behaving correctly when Force stopped.
