Some QoL Suggestions for Go Live
I'll try to keep this short and sweet, I'm originally writing this as a request by a Support Tech via email.
- The ability to hide, resize, and manually pause the preview window while you're using Go Live
- If given the aforementioned, allow the window to be placed anywhere without snapping.
- The option to lower the preview's quality so it does not impact performance as much, along with the ability to reduce its framerate of the preview for the same reason.
- Being able to share your entire desktop's audio during a screen share.
- Enable a second audio input for microphone or currently playing audio support if necessary.
- Allow selecting an audio source from a specific app while using Go Live. i.e playing music
- Allow the stream's audio to be controlled by slider and by hotkeys, including a mute option.
- An option to mute everyone by default when they enter a channel, though temporarily.
- Allow temporarily blanking the stream without ending it, there is sometimes sensitive info.
- When resuming a Go Live stream using a hotkey, default to the last stream type rather than "By App"
- Being able to share your mouse on-screen without enabling Mouse Trails in Mouse Settings.
- Option to play a visual effect to highlight the mouse when clicked to let viewer better track the mouse.
- An option to get an on-screen notification if the stream fails or ends without user input.
- Adding the option to add the stream to the overlay. Pretty much like pinning the window on top except more "built-in" functionality, not requiring the user to pop out the overlay beforehand, etc.
- Network Conditions troubleshooter and evaluator - showing users what they're to expect.
Issue I've faced:
- Pinning the stream popout window "Always On Top" does not always work.
- The stream ends itself while I'm still actively doing things.
- Frequent crashes when someone joins the same channel I'm streaming in.
**Currently working on the crashes with a Tech Support agent.
Extra:
- Consider allowing mouse & keyboard remote control for private calls.
That's just about all I can think of at the current time off the top of my head. Hopefully you'll consider some of these changes. Especially audio with screen share and mouse support without requiring mouse trails.
