new ui is god awful

i can't think of a single positive thing to say about it.

1. messages take up more space. why do we need to space out multiple messages by the same person??? so many people tend to write longer messages in increments. this just makes it more annoying to read longer posts.

2. new bar is obnoxious

3. highlight effect is extremely annoying

i'm not sure if anything else has changed, but if it has, then those features probably suck too. please revert this immediately.
