I am also having this issue. I'm only trying to reinstall it because I uninstalled it due to a corrupt installation file and now when I try and run the set-up, I get the same issue as above.

I am getting the same issue to, I have deleted it completely from my computer. Does anyone else uses the Steel Series Engine by chance?

Also has anyone tried downloading it on a different machine, moving the exe file to a jump drive, then moving the jump drive to the affected machine to reinstall it?

I had the same problem. I have a friend that works in IT and I allowed her to remote into my computer to fix this issue. This was the process she took.
Download RevoUninstall
Click forced uninstall
- type in Discord
Choose advance search
- next
Click only the items in bold
- next
Delete all files and folders here
- finish
Reboot
I now have a working version of discord, hope this works for everyone else.

i found an easy fix to this problem, no 3rd party installs, and only takes about 5-10 minutes:
first thing you wanna do is go to your search on your pc and type in "%appdata% and hit enter,
there, you will see all of your applications, hold cntrl and click on the "discord" one
delete the file, then restart your pc.
after this you should be able to download discord with no problem, and if you are ever going to reinstall it again, do this same method to reinstall to prevent this from happening again.

Thx I’ll try that

What do you mean "the 'discord' one?" All i'm getting in the results is a bunch of gibberish folders and files? which would it actually be? None of the folder say "discord"

I did what DoomFist13 said and it worked completely, you didn't even have to redownload discord since it was just.. there. If you want to fix it I suggest that.

Alright, do what fyrerey said with hitting Win+R and searching %appdata%, but also search %localappdata% and delete anything discord from there as well. Remember to empty your recycle bin, then restart your PC.
Try downloading discord again, badabing, badaboom, works for me every time.0
