Adding my 2¢ to the updated screen share discussion
During this time of social isolation, I've relied on discord's almost livestream-like functionality to watch movies, stream occasional games of jackbox, marathon tv shows, or just show off projects i'm working on with close friends and family.
This new update is... very bad for that, to put it lightly!
It cuts the effective viewing size for the stream down to 25%, instead choosing to give space to (and sometimes prioritizing) people who intentionally chose not to provide a video feed. I can't see anything anymore! From the sounds of the uproar in this feedback forum and on twitter, neither can anyone else.
Please revert this change! I understand you guys are trying to make this program more accessible for the Work From Home crowd in terms of familiarity and ease-of-use, but in the process, you've killed the main reason people used this program when it comes to those kind of features. It's a pretty drastic change that completely refocuses this program's benefits towards something it tried to avoid when it started out all those years ago.
It's now harder to enjoy things with the important people in my life that I'm having to keep physical distance from thanks to this pandemic.
