I had this problem right now. i was redownloading discord and i also deleted the two discord folders in Local & Roaming in AppData. After that i restarted my pc and downloaded Discord Again. And when i went to disable Discord from Startup i saw 2 Discord Startup Icons. One Named "Discord https://discord.com and "Update by Github" and when i turn off Open Discord. Update By Github disappears and the only one left is "Discord https://discord.com. but i disabled Discord https://discord.com both of them and when i went to regedit "Discord https://discord.com" it doesnt show up only when i turn on Open Discord when it shows up. should i enable these two or only Update by Github? This all happened when im reinstalling Discord.

What HxteM3 said worked for me, Github is the update thing for discord (im pretty sure) so if its disabled discord wont start on startup. Saw Github mentioned in the autorun mentioned by masterfelu and enabled in it startup and discord is back to starting up on startup.

I also have trouble having Discord start automatically when I sign into Windows.
It used to work, then some update it seems broke it, and it no longer appears on the startup list of programs in task manager or settings.

I have solved the problem by adding a copy of the shortcut to the Discord executable to this directory

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp\

I copied the shortcut into there from

    %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Hammer & Chisel, Inc\

An easy way to find that if you ever forget is to use the start menu and right click on the application you want to find and hit "open file location"

You can go to user settings > windows settings > then disable "Open Discord".

Comrade Joecool's solution above is the safest and "the way to go" for normal users who want for any program to start at login:

    1. Go to the startup folder indicated in Comrade Joecool's post

    2. Paste inside the folder a copy of the shortcut of whatever program you want to start at login

    3. Done.

Funny to know that actual copyright in the Update exe is for GitHub, this is also the field from which the Tash manager gets the Publisher Info from.

Somebody should fix this as this is not an error, this is just "cba to do this properly"

Many individuals in South Africa often turn to the SASSA Status Check to monitor their application progress. Whether it's a general SASSA Status or a more specific query like the SASSA Status Check for R350 grants, people rely heavily on these updates. Moreover, for those who face challenges or discrepancies, the SASSA Appeal process becomes crucial. It's essential to stay informed, especially when dealing with financial assistance. The intricacies of SDR SASSA and the various nuances of SASSA SRD further emphasize the importance of understanding and navigating the system effectively.

I've had this issue for a long time with Discord. I want to assume the best of people, but it really seems like Discord purposely doesn't want to fix this because they want people always running Discord.

The Autoruns tool shows where things autostart from in Windows -

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns

I checked it on my PC (Win11 23H2 10.0.22631 / Discord stable 308210 (396byac) Host 1.0.9152 x64 (49057)) and deleted the registry value causing it to run at Windows startup (run from elevated CMD or PowerShell) -

    reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run /v Discord /f

*** PLEASE DISCORD CAN YOU FIX THIS LONG-STANDING ISSUE? THANKS! ***

So Guys There IS Discord.exe File In Startup But The Name Is Not Discord. The Name Is "UPDATE" Right Click It And Click On Open File Location

First Discord Starts The Update App Then After Checking For Updates It Runs The App. So Make Sure To Enable It In Start-Menu Of Task Manager.
