Discord Mobile UI update

For the first time ever, I'm considering stopping using Discord.

At the moment, Discord on my tablet is my only lifeline to the world, and these sliding things have rendered the entire thing unusable. Tons of needless red dots, things moving around constantly, I have to slide back and fort incessantly just to see what is going on in the various chats, and I can't even do mentions without going through a lengthy process, because clicking on people in the chat now brings up their profile for some reason (why would I even want to do that, on a normal day?)

I don't have a working comouter anymore, and I can't afford to repair it. This tablet is *all* I have, and Discord seems to have decided that I cannot have nice things. I feel like I'm legit about to come apart at the seams, like a straw that broke the camel's back.

I completely agree. It's become obnoxious to the point where I'm struggling to read chats at all, because I have to balance between the awful sliding screens, the constant notifications in four million places, and then the fact that if I would like to get to my DMs, I have to go on an adventure at this point instead of, you know, a seperate screen up top that not a single person on this world had complained about.

It feels like Discord decided to not listen to anyone with this update, because I don't know a single person who asked for it. Yes, it cost money and took time, but like light mode it's only good for some people. I'd rather not be constantly forced to use light mode, so I also hope there will be either some change to let us, ahem, use the app, or we can at least choose how we'd like it to look.

Likewise. Don't fix what ain't broken!!! Discord was *perfectly fine* before, and now the constant useless update are setting me off and making me panic. Pressing the back button twice now shuts the app for no apparent reason, instead of the wonderfully useful open-and-close for the server and channel list. I don't know what they thought they were doing with the new thing at the bottom (yes getting to mentions might be useful, but not at the expense of *everything else useful*).
And I don't know what prompted them to change the typing section to start with - but to make it worse, the camera (why would you even need a camera inbuilt when you have a camera on your phone that works better I don't know) and photos buttons now *stay* impeding on your writing space, but for a *set time* before randomly popping back in again. This is endlessly frustrating and I don't know whether I can bear this update enough to stay around.
For goodness' sake - and for the sake of your users - *don't fix what isn't broken.*

I beg of you - at least make these crazy unnecessary down-dates optional.

Love the changes lads, I feel my heart ever growing stronger for the work you guys are doing. Its like a breathe of fresh air every single time that I open it. It relaxes me in ways most apps don't. Everybody I know (which is the whole world) also agrees with this. Please keep up the good work.

This new update is pretty much garbage for tablets. You end up with tons of unused room and no more immediate access to channel switch or the user list without needless interaction.

I would very much like to have option to go back to the previous interface, much like the desktop one, because as it is, it is barely usable for me.

The new UI is complete bullsh*t on tablets. What's up with that weird sliding screens where you cant even read anything without endless sliding back and forth?
