Set default value for custom status

I would like to have an option to set default value of custom status.

To describe my suggestion, I would like to set a default status like "check my website.com" and when I set another custom status, let's say "working w/Wumpus" and choose the option to delete it after 4hours/day etc., the default status would be set again, when the new one is deleted.

Now it works like I set a status, that never gets deleted, then I set another one and set it's duration to one day, but when the new one is deleted, the custom status is set to empty. Thank you for your response and possible implementation.
