Documentation of notifications count

I've been looking all docs about how Discord gets initial Data and I've been doing some tests with Postam new feature called "Websockets Requests". I've been checking "GUILD_CREATE" and "GUILD_MEMBER_UPDATE" calls in Gateway but there is no notification count or mention count. So how is this implemented or with what mechanism?

  Notifications are parsed and handled by the client

  (using user accounts for accessing the api, or making a bot and such is against the ToS, so you won't get any help with that here)
