discord support being unhelpful.
turned on a vpn, account went onto forced phone number verification. I have made two different tickets that i will attach below. the first one got me a response within an hour, saying that i have to "Verify with a phone number" even though thats what I've been having an issue with in the first place. made another ticket hoping to get a human, it was marked as solved and the same ticket ive been trying to get a response in has stayed open. im practically being ghosted by discord support. this is unhelpful and saying that i have to "verify via a phone number" does not solve the issue that I cannot verify using any of the 4 mobile phone numbers i have tried so far.

Using a VPN or TOR to log into your account will almost undoubtedly always trigger the phone requirement. Discord treats the use of these services as suspect behavior. It's incredibly annoying, but if I were you I'd cut my losses, disable the account and create another one without using the VPN.
Discord is notorious for failing to recognize valid phone numbers. If you're attempting to use online SMS numbers, that will not work. Those numbers are all blocked by Discord. You'll have to use a real phone.1 -
So basically turn off TOR or your VPN DESIGNED TO REDUCE SNOOPING while you login, then after you login, turn it back on.
