Change how your status shows to people who are blocked and not friebded

When you block someone on Discord you make it where that person loses the right to chat with you. It’s like a restraining order but online. The catch is if you start a conversation then they can reply for at least a few days before they are blocked from chatting again. The block itself makes it where the other person and or people will be unable to respond to you unless you remove them from being blocked. The chat stays but the access to chat is removed unless you can find some way to get them to unblock you. When trying to chat on either phone or computer it'll show up as an error message. Don't be alarmed that is confirming you're blocked.
If you are the blocker then remember if you blocked them or not because if you wanted to temporarily block them for like 10 days then you should set a reminder to unblock them 10 days later. If you expect a message from them but you don’t want to pry then basically you forgot the one thing you did that makes it where chatting is near impossible. Remember what you do or else you be waiting for a message for quite awhile especially if you didn’t message them and give them temporary access to chat with you.
Multiple places will have similar things to blocking someone. Like Twitch allows 48 hours to respond to a message before they aren’t able to anymore.
I never blocked anyone on Discord though I have been in the shoes of being blocked. Heads up he’s from Australia and I’m from the U.S. My sleep schedule is way different than his and he is awake when I’m already expected to be in bed. He loves chatting and I do as well but he would like to keep chatting with me and here I am wanting to sleep. One day I tell him we need a break from chatting and he takes it to a level where he says like “You don’t like me?” That kinda thing and does the crying emotes and GIFs. Right after those emotes I find myself blocked. Now I didn’t exactly like or dislike chatting with him but he was an interesting person. I knew he was emotional so I went easy when I told him I wanted a break well I didn’t know how emotional so I made him cry at least through emotes. I somewhat expected emotes of sadness but I didn’t exactly see myself getting blocked.
I probably could’ve said we needed a month break but I was thinking the result would’ve been the same either way. He did make it sound as if we were in a “relationship” and i’m sitting here thinking a few words and that’s what made me not care about being blocked but I did want to make sure he was mentally ok so I made another Discord account and wanted to chat with him anonymously as someone different and I haven’t checked that account in awhile but I believe I did initiate a chat with him and I saw he was mentally alright by what he typed. After that I kept that secondary account and I believe I deleted it after a while. Regards: GBWA
