I am fully willing and ready to jump ship, even with a great degree of personal effort and frustration, if Discord moves ahead with cryptocurrency or NFT integration of any kind. I will not hesitate. I would like to see an incredibly explicit letter signed by all people in a position of power at Discord stating that Discord will never facilitate or integrate with NFTs.

    All of you are dumb for complaining about this cryptocurrency should be allowed to thrive yes I agree that nfts are bad but cryptocurrencies are good they are much better than holding money in a bank

    Crypto is a massive waste of energy and a definite contributor to environmental issues, not sure what that other guy is on about. If I had Nitro I'd cancel it right now.

    Sure you can make the argument that crypto mining is such a big bad environmental issue but it's so low on the list the main problems is driving gas guzzling cars and pollution making energy generation those are way higher on the list that account for much much more pollution

    bitcoin literally has a larger carbon footprint than some countries. any "it's not as bad as other stuff" argument is total BS, it is extremely bad. and just because it isn't the single greatest contributor to global warming doesn't mean we can't criticize and condemn it

    So... you didn't try, just, looking it up? And immediately seeing many well-known reputable sources confirming what I said? That's strange. In just a couple minutes I found articles from the Guardian, NYT, Reuters, and CNBC all supporting that point. I even found a pro-crypto website, cointelegraph, with the same info.

    I'm making a separate comment with links to those five articles since this feedback website seems to flag any comments with links as "pending approval" so it probably wouldn't show up for a while. But you can easily google "bitcoin carbon footprint larger than countries" and see for yourself. 

    And again, my main point is that just because crypto isn't nearly as bad as many different sources of pollution, in order to tackle climate change we need to address ALL the causes, not just the worst offenders.
