Integrate a filter in server settings menu under "Moderation"
Discord filters currently rely on moderation bots which delete, mute, kick, and ban users who post certain messages. Unfortunately, Discord does not have a built-in filter to block these messages from being sent in the first place (aside from the general AI filter that blocks NSFW and malicious links).
What I suggest is a filter option be added in the server settings under "Moderation". The filter could use regex pattern matching or simple string matching. If a word or phrase is on the filter in server settings, the user would be unable to send the message. On mobile, the overlay text "Message not sent" would appear. On desktop, the Discord window would shake, just as if you sent a message during the slowmode countdown. This would also help with messages being edited; if they contain a word on the filter, the window would shake on desktop, or the overlay text "Message not edited" would appear.
There would also be a special permission to view and bypass the filter. Specific role-by-role configuration could be done so that messages sent by some users are blocked but not all users. Also, users with the ability to view the filter would be able to see which parts of their message is triggering the filter so they can correct it.
The other thing that could happen is that the parts of the message that the filter detected is blocked out with asterisks. The filter could be configurable to do either of these two things.
