Unable to verify phone number

I recently made a discord account for making a school hub representing my school. However as I continued with registration I got the prompt to verify my phone number. I tried verifying it but it has been shown as invalid whereas I actually own the number. Please help me verify the phone number, as I am otherwise unable to continue to discord. Cheers.

  same issue even when my phone number go through
