Explicit content filter suggestion
Hello everyone,
I am the owner of a Community server. Lately, we've been having a lot of issues with false-positives in the explicit content filter. As this community server is art relatead, it can be particulary frustrating since users are often not even able to share or see the art shared.
We were discussing this and were wondering if it would be possible to allow server moderators to manage false-positives. Perhaps via a new permission, or something like the existing "manage massages" one.
One of the moderators had the following idea:
- User A posts an image, which is automatically flagged as explicit
- Discord hides the image from regular users' view
- Moderator B can see an entry in the audit log, and / or a flag on the posted message
- Moderator B can then privately choose to view the image, and optionally mark the image as "not explicit" (a bonus could be an opt-in checkbox to send feedback to Discord)
- If marked as "not explicit", the image can then be seen by all users, as if it were not caught by the filter
Similarly, it may be useful to also have the reverse available as well, allowing moderators to flag false-negatives if something explicit manages to make its way past the filter.
We hope to see more powers like this for the community owners and moderators in the future, so that we can continue to use these safety features whilist also reducing the friction from them in cases of false-positives like these.
Cordially,
Erola
