Ridiculous Phone Verification Detection System
Long story short, I was simply helping my girlfriend create her first account on Discord using her own email address and phone number while she was connected on the same WiFi network as mine.
After creating her account, mine simply lost connection and I was locked out to verify my mobile number which has been binded to my account for years and I cannot receive any verification code Discord requires in order to verify my account again, no matter the times I try or wait and I even tried to buy another SIM card with another number just in case Discord thinks my mobile number suddenly is special or doesn’t work and guess what, I still can’t get that verification SMS to verify my account…
I use a different email, a different mobile number, a different device and somehow Discord's verification system thinks I'm creating multiple accounts for some reason that doesn't reach my mind and at this point I’m simply starting to realize that Discord is falsely detecting multiple account creation.
I get the security and all but the way they keep this "timeout" going on the background is outrageous and unacceptable when I have done nothing wrong. Some users reported to have waited half a month, more than a month, imprecise "timeouts"... The lack of information about this "timeout" security is hiding something that Discord doesn't seem how problematic it can be and out of control it could reach.
Fortunately, I'm not the only person criticizing Discord’s phone validation system which seems inaccurate detecting account multiplication or simply it's just programed to do this, if so, it's ridiculous and puts us consumers walking backwards and thinking what to do next.
Many people use this wonderful app as their primary contact and in some majority of cases for business as it's very user friendly and helps us organize our work better.
Tell me Discord, who’s going to manage my servers, who will respond to important meetings, who will respond when my family messages me if I’m “Okay”, how will I contact my friends abroud that only use Discord and don’t know about me because I’m not online to say what happened. I legitimately use Discord as my main communication as well for work and now you take something from my life away that I depend on every day?
I'm not even going to argue about that automatic bot message I receive from your support inquiries, it's simply annoying and doesn't help or solve anything, it's just there to seem "we are here to help" when in fact you’re not.
Please take this seriously, it's not just me and still today I'm locked out without any solution.
Thank you for at least giving me/us the opportunity to vent some aspects that we start to hate about your platform and hopefully your developer team will soon improve your phone validation system and as for me, hopefully you will resolve my situation.

The same issue for me. My story with Discord Customer support continuing for last 5 days in a row. I feel that Discord can't do or didn't want do something with this terrible SMS validation system. For these 5 days of fighting i still can't get login into my account....

I've also had this problem when i tried to change my email address on my existing account and was forced to add a phone number even though discord clearly knows it's me. I now cannot remove my phone number otherwise i will be locked out again for a few days and I have to re enter it. This system is so stupid and unnecessary and not everyone has a phone number they can use which just makes things worse.

Alright, after several hours later I tried again my mobile number and it still didn't send me any message code.
I also tried with the number I had previously bought and it also didn't work.
Scratching my head thinking what to do next and without any options I went to town to purchase another SIM card with a brand new number and finally I was able to receive my message code.
