Change "System Default" output to "System Playback Device" output option
And then make that the option. I am constantly switching between speakers for music and zoom meetings, to headphones for gaming. The system will never swap when I change the playback device of my computer. It's just a different option to fetch from Windows, should be simple ;-;

"System Default" fetches your currently selected output from here:

If it's not swapping devices even though you're changing your output here, that's an error, and you should take steps to fix it.
If you want your discord to swap depending on this setting, use "System Default," but if you want Discord to only use a specific device that it won't change from, choose which in your user settings.
I don't know what other option you could want that aren't either of these.-2 -
Wiz No, discord fetches your current default sound output

Current playback device is treated as a separate property by Windows. I can change my playback device between my Realtek and Yeti options all day, but discord won't change because I'm only changing my playback device, and not my default device. Otherwise, yes, I have to manually go through the Voice & Video settings every time I swap between them.

I vote for this, when I change windows output audio from speakers to my headset, windows default device does not change and discord output device does not change too, so discord audio calls keep going to speakers when I already changed it on windows to my headset.
Discord Default output device should be "current playback device", and if I set one specifically, then it should stick to it. Otherwise, is more practical to have it following my choice on the SO.
