Really dislike the new UI (Beta 128.8 Android)

Removed AMOLED black mode which I had kept on permanently for a couple years now and was hoping would eventually go from experimental to officially supported, feels so much less snappy than the previous interface, app is generally just not as appealing to look at especially the sidebar. I dislike this update so much I'm going to temporarily revert to the Stable release branch and hope this gets reverted.

    It's essentially the iOS app which they've had it for years, and I kinda hate it too. The search functions are a bit too stretch and being on a high refresh rate screen, the animations being on 60hz feels laggy as hell. Scrolling through every part of the app feels extremely laggy.

    Agreed. When I received the auto update I was extremely distressed, since another thing that was taken away was the ability to change the text size to your exact preference, which now has the text either too small or too big for my phone, and it just looks horrible. The side bar is far too compressed whilst the messages are stretched out, to be honest this UI feels entirely unnecessary.

    Agree on both points. The removal of Ultra Dark Mode (AMOLED) caused me great distress, as my tablet updated while I was commuting, and when I saw that ugly grey pretendy 'Dark Mode' instead of the beautiful sleek (and eye saving!) Ultra Dark Mode (AMOLED), which had inexplicably disappeared, THEN discovered I also couldn't adjust the text size to MY preference, not even the extortionate glass of red wine from the buffet trolley on the train saved my night. I too thought Ultra Dark Mode (AMOLED) would have by now become a standard option and not just experimental after so many years. I live in hope the developers will read this feedback.
