Issue with threads in new Android update

When in a thread in the new version on Android, the usual hamburger menu icon in the top right is replaced by an arrow. Tapping the arrow takes me to the beginning post of the thread, in the thread's parent channel. There is, as far as I can tell, no other way to get out of a thread, whether to a different channel in the same server, to a different server, or to DMs or settings. Additionally, going back to the beginning of the thread is very inconvenient, especially if the thread has been going for some time.

I do not, personally, have any particular desire to go back to the very start of a thread in its parent channel. This arrow button seems to me to have very little practical use, and I find being forced to go back to what, in some cases, is months in the past of a channel simply to navigate away distinctly annoying. I would greatly appreciate it if the same navigation menu were once again made available in threads as in ordinary channels – as, to my knowledge, it used to be before this update.

I am part of several large servers for various games and interests and we use threads to keep off topic content organised and contained. At times the majority of interaction happens within threads. This update is very bothersome both for navigating the threads quickly and for engaging in the parent channel conversations. Please give an option to revert.
