Video thumbnails don't show up in gallery
My issue is in the image below:

Ever since the new update, I've been going through this issue a lot. None of the thumbnails for my videos show up on my gallery anymore. It's a pain to me because I can't tell which videos I'm sending to my friends, unless by the name of the file and/or the duration.
I've tried everything I could to get rid of this but nothing helped.
I wanted to know if anybody else is going through this problem or if it's just me. And if there's a way to solve it, do let me know!
(FYI this only applies to videos, images and gifs are completely fine)

Method 1: Change File Explorer settings
Select File Explorer Options from the menu. In the File Explorer Options window, click on the View tab. Uncheck Always show icons, never thumbnails option.0 -
Thank you for your reply, but which File Explorer settings? I can't seem to find them anywhere on the app.

It seems there might be some confusion. Discord is primarily a communication platform for text, voice, and video chat among users, and it doesn't have a gallery feature for storing or displaying media files. Therefore, the issue of video thumbnails not showing up in the gallery doesn't apply to Discord.
If you are experiencing difficulties with video thumbnails not appearing in another gallery or media management app on your device, I can provide some general troubleshooting steps:
-
Clear the cache: Open the settings of your gallery app, navigate to the app's storage or cache settings, and clear the cache. This can help refresh the app and potentially resolve any thumbnail display issues.
-
Refresh the media library: Some gallery apps provide an option to manually refresh the media library. Look for an option like "Scan for new media" or "Refresh library" and select it. This action can force the app to re-scan for media files and generate the missing thumbnails.
-
Check app permissions: Ensure that the gallery app has the necessary permissions to access media files on your device. Go to your device's Settings, find the Apps or Applications section, locate your gallery app, and verify that the required permissions, such as storage or media access, are enabled.
-
Restart your device: Restarting your device can often resolve temporary glitches and refresh system processes. Try turning off your device, waiting a few seconds, and then turning it back on.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may consider reaching out to the support channels provided by the specific gallery app you're using for further assistance. MyHealthAtVanderbilt

It seems to be an issue on Huawei devices, from what I've heard. I tried all of the steps you provided, for years now, but nothing. I'm not sure if there's anything I can do about it.
