"Fix" for Discord chat scrolling up

For several years there has been a bug that causes the chat to automatically scroll up after a message or just for no reason. Recently, I suddenly see more and more people reporting the problem. Support tickets reported with this reason are usually passed around and no solution is found. Reinstalling Discord, using Discord Canary, using another computer or account all lead to no success. For this reason I did some research and found out the following:


It is a resolution problem. 
Here are a few resolutions where the problem occurs:

1440x2560 - portrait (vertical) mode
1080x1920 - portrait (vertical) mode
2560 x 1440 

The problem can be solved by either using a different resolution or by using Discord resized in windowed mode instead of fullscreen. This led to success for many users.

    This has been plaguing me for what seems like ever - I only use Discord on a vertical monitor.  I hope this gets fixed sooner than later, but I appreciate the temporary solution at least.
