Stop me from posting to a channel I have permission to post to unless I take second step to intentionally post

Server mods on a server with over ten thousand members keep giving me write permission on a channel which is meant to notify as many people as possible.  Since important updates are posted there, I am often reading it, and then I post something to what I thought was the channel where I was talking, but it goes out as an update, which is HORRIBLE.  Anyway, I want a feature where I have to extra-confirm that I want to post to a particular channel that I set, such as this update channel I'm talking about.  That way, I still have permission to post there, but will stop accidentally posting messages to it.  Another method to achieve that feature would be to have a setting somewhere that I can set that turns off my posting permission, but I could go there and change that setting whenever I have an actual update that I want to intentionally post.
