Mobile Notification Configuration

I would really like to be able to select what sort of Notifications I get when I enable Notifications on my phone so that I can be made aware of items of interest without drowning in all the activity across all of the communities I participate in.  Specifically, I would like to receive notifications when I'm Messaged and when I'm @ mentioned in a post... but not worry about traffic in my various communities unless I open the application and browse them.
