    It doesn't really 'ping us everytime it is used'.  It pings whenever that 'On' button is on.  If you don't want to be pinged, they have to turn it off.  But having it as a channel permission thing where you don't get pinged would be cool.

    This would be great, i think maybe if we can configure the ping on and off by default when responding would be grate to.

    Agreed. Users should at least be able to disable notifications from the reply option in their personal settings, although I don't even understand why it should automatically be on to begin with. Using Discord has been made more annoying ever since they introduced the new reply option, because it depends entirely on the other user respecting or not your wish to not be notified when they reply to your 2 weeks old message with "ok".

    Indeed. Most people can't even look to the right of their screen to see the @ON button, and so you have to spend twenty minutes explaining how the "Reply" feature works and then get warned for being rude (example).
    Just make it be disabled by default in the next update, or, indeed, add a permission to disable it.
