Phone Verification

Please explain to me how verifying with a phone number that you are allowed to supply, any kind of verification at all?  What is stopping Joe Criminal from verifying on my account with his phone number?  You even suggest in your support email, to use a different phone number if yours has be flagged. what kind of BS is discord slinging here with this verification system. Even an email address for verification is more secure, at least the email address is associated with your account so there is a tie back to the owner. And what purpose does putting the phone number into a timeout for weeks at a time do besides encourage people to just abandons their account and start a new one. Isn't that what your trying to keep from happening? whoever came up with the security idea of being able to supply the phone number at the time of verification should really not be in the position they are in.  When are you going to fix this stupid timeout BS and come up with a better way of letting legit users verify their accounts, without forcing them to go awal on their servers, and potentially loose users, monitor their servers, or lots of other good reasons. You can be certain that I nor anyone I know, and as many people that have any common sense, Will never be using discord for anything other that casual entertainment. The fact that you may loose access to your account for days even weeks at a time with no recourse, should throw up a huge red flag. Anyone using discord for any job related task, heaven forbid a meeting with a client, is asking for trouble.
