Streaming very laggy only in game

Hello and greetings.

I wanted to stream to my friends in our server a particular game, Subnautica Below Zero. What I have noticed is that when the game is in focus, it's either frozen, or so laggy it could be frozen as well. The strange issue is that when I make the game lose focus, the stream is perfect. I can see my stream if I pop it out in a new window, so I can see that when the game is in focus it just stops and when its not, the stream shows no issues, it runs smoothly.

I don't know why would this happen. I tried running the game and the Discord with admin rights, and without. The game in borderless, windowed and fullscreen modes, and also setting CPU priority higher for Discord cause I thought maybe the PC allocates it all to the game when its focused. This doesn't occur in any other game I had at hand and which I tested: League of Legends, World of Tanks, Hollow Knight and Valorant. Latest drivers, also.

My PC is good enough and my internet as well to support mere 720p streaming, if the specific system information is required, feel free to request. I can also provide a video if its needed.

I would like some info on about why this could appear, and what can I do to solve it. I was thinking about getting Nitro just to see if it would fix itself with higher quality and refund it later. I do really think this is a Discord related issue, but I could be wrong.

Dead thread, but I have the exact same issue. It seems that nobody else has this problem, either.

I have searched across the Internet trying every single fix I could, and nothing seems to fix it. Running Discord with admin privileges seems to make it better, but it still is not smooth, and that is not how it should be.

What makes the issue stranger is, during my testing, I observed that streaming my screen resulted in no stutters whatsoever and that they only appeared once I started streaming a game.

Running Discord without hardware acceleration on Windows 11 with a Ryzen 7 3800x and a GTX 1080 with 16 GB of RAM.
Speed test results: 812.61 mbps Download, 805.56 mbps Upload.

I will be getting a ticket made to see if Discord responds in a timely manner because this is beyond irritating.
