Does it show "user is typing" once we clicked and open a text channel?

So a friend of mine told me that i was typing but did not send messages. But i am pretty sure that i was not typing anything at the moment. I do frequently open the text channels and scrolling down to see what the members are talking about. And every time i did it, the cursor does blinks as if i was ready to type something even though i did not click the text box, and it always happens for desktop users though. Does this actually happen to everyone? Is that blinking cursor the issue ?
