Layout for folding phones is unoptimized

The app seems to be completely undeveloped for folding phones. When opening the app in folded mode, and then unfolding with the app active, I get an entirely different UI and UX from if I open the app directly on an unfolded screen. 

Opening to an unfolded screen gives me an app that lacks any and all borders separating sidebars, the main window, and the lower edge tab UI. It also seems to randomly switch between opening the sidebars properly and expanding them to cover the entire screen, which makes the app incredibly annoying to use. 

If I take the unfolded version of the app, and then shrink it either by entering split screen or folding the phone, it does not recognize that I have shrunk my view and continues to display chats and sidebars as if the app is twice as wide as it is. As you can imagine, this makes the app actually unusable - unable to see the entirety of messages, unable to see who is online, unable to see what channels just gave me a ping. 

Please please PLEASE improve the “tablet” version of this app, and give it the ability to recognize when it is switched between tablet to phone aspect ratios.
