New UI and disabilities
This new update has made the app so, so much more inaccessible. It's cluttered and difficult on the eyes; my eyes hurt just looking at it for more than five minutes, and I rarely have issues with eye strain. People are reporting migraines. It's thrown years of muscle memory in the trash, made an oversensitive swipe to reply which is nightmarish for people with motor disabilities, and made it harder to see the members list which is a moderation nightmare. Everything is either too big or too small, and it looks like a completely different app from the desktop one.
But for me and my disabilities this has genuinely been catastrophic. I'm disabled in my hands; things that before were a simple one handed task now take multiple swipes and clicks, and will inevitably cause me an insane amount of pain. There's so much more clicking and scrolling and swiping needed for pretty much everything now, everything is so much more manual and tedious than it was before. Unread dms no longer show at the top of my list, which, as someone who uses discord for work as well, means I have to scroll and scroll and scroll until I find unread things. Ouch.
I also have memory issues due to multiple disabilities. Dms being in a second tab, that disappears in server view unless you swipe a certain way, which doesn't show you your unread dms as icons, is going to cause me a world of issues. I will inevitably miss so, so much stuff, either because something will get buried, because had some messages marked unread on purpose and therefore the little red number changing goes unnoticed or means nothing, all because I can no longer see the icons of what messages I have unread.
It was so much easier to navigate and stay on top of things when everything was in one place and in view, this has made everything so much more complicated. Please at least consider adding a toggle for the dm tab if nothing else and allow us to choose to not have to do 1000 more clicks and swipes just to navigate your app. It really feels like there was -10 thought put into how disabled people would navigate your app, we've (once again) been completely ignored by the team. Seriously considering canceling my nitro and exploring other platforms over how inaccessible the app has just become to me.

1000%, they manage to actively make the app more hostile to disabled people, and yet still can't implement basic accessibility features that are on the desktop and browser versions.

+1. Disabled users have been thrown under the bus here. They want our Nitro money but they don’t actually want us.

Seconding all of this. All of the theme options are now too high contrast and hurt my eyes and head. The app itself is in general, significantly less accessible to me as a disabled and neurodivergent person. The previous UI wasn't perfect, but the new UI is a significant downgrade and harms those of us with chroni migraines especially.

This update has been an absolute nightmare to navigate. I don’t have a physical disability but I am ND and I’m struggling to see how this was supposed to be better for anyone. All it’s done is make the system harder to use.

This update is a neurodivergent person's nightmare. It's… I am honestly at a loss for words on how to describe it. I want the old discord back, truly.
