High contrast colors for dark theme makes visibility difficult
It's all in the title. As some other folks have already said here (but that I'll make another post about anyways until discord actually does something about it), the new colors for the dark theme has become considerably darker with higher contrast which makes reading and looking at the display very hard and even causes physical strain for the eyes. I honestly just really wish you could make this a separate “dark contrast” or “extra dark” theme instead of removing the grey and softer colours you had previously.
I also want to highlight the sheer amount of people I've seen here and also the personal stories by people I know that has also from other similar UI color changes has had their migraines triggered because of these high contrasting colors. /Please/ let us have the grey colors back and make these new colors a separate theme if you must have them.

i’m having the same problem. i have a genetic disorder that affects the way my eyes focus and i’m having a hard time reading the new dark mode

I and a couple of my friends are also experiencing this.
I hope that the developers can address this issue as being more substantive and meaningful than grumbling about buttons being in a different place or colors being different. I wouldn't mind the new colors if the text was not as high contrast.
When I look down at my phone keyboard, which has a color scheme similar to the old colors, and it's noticeably easier on the eyes than the new colors.

I really need the gray to come back because yeah, it's hard for me to even look at Discord now due to the eye strain. The previous dark theme was perfect :(
