Can't swipe from channel list to channel anymore?

I don't have to tell you the new UI is awful, others have already done that, but the worst is that I can't swipe horizontally from a channel list to a channel anymore? This makes Discord so incredibly clunky to use, and impossible to use with one hand when I have to re-adjust my phone in my grip to tap the channel I was already in. Please listen to user feedback on this one.

As an aside, the acitivty things at the top of the DM list are weird visual clutter and make the entire list confusing. Why would I need to know what my friend is playing on Steam when I'm on my phone???

(Also, somehow this website wouldn't let me log in to my existing account, even though I can log in on Discord with the same credentials, so have a new account just so I can complain about how awful this is.)
