[RESOLVED] Account has been hacked and no help from support for over 40 days
On 20th December my Discord account (WolfisFT #4687) got stolen when I downloaded a file from a “friend's” link disguised as a game. Because I am on a games programming course in the university I got easily baited by a hacker without realising it.
He ended up changing the password and even my email meaning that he got access to it as well. The only thing that he didn't succeed to change was my phone number because I've managed to setup a 2FA in a short time I had to still retain some sort of grasp on the account.
Of course, in the meantime when my email was stolen he created a new account. I can be sure about that based on the support bot reply telling that they cannot revert email for my main account due to a new one registered on it. That complicates the situation even more.
It has been over 40 days and the only ever reply I got was from Discord Facebook team telling me that I have to wait. How long??? Please, someone help me!

Easy on the language. But yeah, their service is useless.

nah I'm not going easy on the language, those n1qg3r$ don't care so I do so as well. I'll post slurs everytime till those сüпts do finally something.

You’re right. Absolutely correct.

Same thing happened to me, but the game title is changed same thumbnail.

It happened to a friend of mine. I may have to raise awareness about this.

23 days on my account with nothing being done. I'm starting to think they just turned on the automated responses and got rid of any actual tech support.

This upsets me.

I've had to put in a request to delete the account linked to my email. Which seems to be getting a faster response.

Not bad. But honestly its been 9 days and they have done squat. I am waiting even now.

The gloves come off. So I basically made sure to call them out on my update video.

DestinyDecade Hey. I just watched your YouTube video and I can agree this is not acceptable. I am so sorry to see another fellow Discord user that got their account hijacked / hacked. It's now 8 days for me..

I appreciate it. It's now 9 days and Discord has done absolutely nothing. I am within my right to call them out on their incompetence.

I'm in the process of having them delete my account. The account deletion team is much more responsive. My take away from this is either request account deletion, request them to remove your 2fa, but avoid reporting your account as hacked. Once it goes to that department you probably won't hear back from them.
23 days and nothing. Request to delete my account and I had actual communication with a person.
Sadly, I still might have to abandon my 8 year old server if they take too long deleting my account.

I may have to do the same because if Discord isn't going to do squat helping me get it back, I'll just nuke it along with my server. Besides, I now have a new server with better moderation.

Wait what? That's so unfair if they are way faster to respond to removing 2fa and other stuff, but when it comes to account getting hacked? Naah. Unbeliveable!
0 -
That is messed up. Its no wonder why discord support is trash. Jeez.
0 -
Jeez… I'm starting to wonder if it's better to make a ticket and say to remove 2fa and then afterwards when you have access to the “new” account which isn't your original, then enable a 2fa yourself and make a new ticket. Explaining them this isn't your account and in that way make them revert the account back. But perhaps that wouldn't help at all, since discord ain't replying anyway.
I subbed to your YouTube channel as well. This video of yours must be seen by Discord. ASAP

Jackal , Diyar David Celik Seems like request to delete the account that hacker created using my email when it was stolen does have a chance to push things forward. Currently waiting for their response after it was escalated further. Then, if that is successful, I'll reply to the same person and ask them to revert back my the email for my original account that was stolen

Lumagrowl 32 So you plan to delete that account and then create a new one with your recovered/original email and then make a new ticket saying your account has been hacked so they can put the hackers account back to your new one?

Diyar David Celik My thought process is to completely delete that account basically freeing up my email (that was used on my original account) from this “account loop”.
This should allow me to create a new ticket from the email asking to revert back my original account's email address to the one that I'm currently writing from (something I've been restricted from doing last time due to the existence of that “shadow” account).
This way, my original profile will have my email, but hacker's password. So, in theory, I should be able to just reset the password and regain my access

Lumagrowl 32 I see what you mean. Though how would you do that? If you delete that account which the hacker has access to, in order to free the email and make a new one. Is that possible for Discord to restore an deleted account back like that or?

Edit: Never mind, I misunderstood it. But yeah that sounds like an excellent idea. Please let me know if you ever get it back and if it worked.

It has been 10 days now and Discord Trust and Safety is so pathetic and so bad that it frustrates me.
0 -
Yeah. IT's so bad.
I wonder if one's account gets deleted, the email is also getting deleted from their system like completely or not. Cause in that case It might be easier to just close the account down, then make another ticket since you have access to your account with the original email you used on your hacked account. So in that case they can delete 2FA and revert the account back to yours. Maybe? I start to wonder.
