Hacked account still gone after weeks
Summary:
I was fooled by who I thought was a friend to test a game they made, and it turned out to be a malicious file that allowed the hacker to completely take my discord account, and possibly much more of my personal information. They proceeded to try and extort me, and scam my friends into falling for the hack as well.
The email was changed, and I believe my phone number might still be connected to the account. It has been over 3 weeks since I contacted Discord support, and I got Clyde originally, and then Grimmjow after I replied to the Clyde message with more information, who told me my ticket was being escalated.
I have about a decade of discord history on that account, friends who I have no other way of contacting, and much more tied to the account.
Questions:
-Does anyone ever get their accounts back from something like this?
-Does support ever at least directly contact people to discuss the matter?
-Is there anything I can do to speed things up?
-Will I get an email if my ticket gets closed?
What Happened:
Over 3 weeks ago, I was contacted by a friends account, and they asked me to give them feedback on a game they were developing. I forget if they supplied me the link, or if I looked it up on steam, but the page didn't have the download. They directed me to use the link directly to their website that was on the steam page, and download the game. I did so, and noticed the file size was only like 73 MB, and only had an exe file in it. I thought it was sus, and knew the dangers of running an exe file, but for some dumb reason I ran it. My chrome browsers all closed, and a launcher was on my computer. I tried to delete the files, and told my friend that I thought things were weird, and I was deleting them, and running virus software. They asked if I could screen share, and when I said no, my discord accounts on my devices all closed.
My email showed up as not existing anymore when I tried to sign in, and do forget password. When I used my phone with forget password, it would say it sent the verification code to my email, which didn't go to my email address, because I believe the hacker changed it.
In my inbox was an email from the hacker, apologizing, saying they made a mistake, and to contact them on discord if I could in order to get my account back. I made a new account, contacted my original discord, and they laid out what they did, and if I wanted my account, it would cost me money. They also offered to team up with them to do this to other people, and I'd get a cut. This wasn't going to happen, so the conversation quickly ended, and I haven't messaged it since. They were messaging my friends, and I figure they most likely got at least someone else, and moved on from there.
I emailed support and got Clyde, then sent a reply message, and got Grimmjow telling my my ticket has been escalated. It has been over 3 weeks since I heard anything.

Yes I got mine back after 2 months

How do I know if my ticket is still active? Is there a way to check or something? If they don't email you to tell you if it closes, then I'll have no idea if I'm still in a queue or not.
Doppi what was your situation where you had to wait 2 months? Did they just give you your account back, or did you have to discuss things with someone through email?0 -
You need to go to the login page of this website and use the RECOVER PASSWORD
This site uses a different password for your account than your main discord.Click your username in the top right and there you can see your tickets
I just sent my ticket with as much information as possible. They got back to me 2 months later and said okay we see you were hacked heres your account back pretty much.0 -
Hello Doppi Nelly
I am currently having the same issue. The hacker created over 20+ tickets on my behalf all closed except one where I got this answer. He changed emails, created a new one under my current email, got it banned for underage claims by themselves. They are closing new tickets. The title of the ticket has weird non English characters.
Will I still get a response?

Doppi when I made this account, I used the information for my current account, and did the forgot password, and it didn't send anything to my email. I had to make a whole new account just for support. This recover thing something different than forget password?
I am worried that if I use my main account email, I might end up doing something to block progress towards getting the account back.
How do I navigate to see my tickets? Maybe I can't see the section on this account, since I didn't make a ticket with this, but through my main account email, through email.0 -
hotspicytaco Sorry the best you can do is try to explain on the add comment in the bottom but seems like that guy really did the max damage he could do with your thing
Rapanui Sorry to say man but if you're not writing in from the email originally used for the ahacked account they won't even look your way.0 -
Doppi the forgot password thing worked, and I got my account for the support. Can I at all do anything to get my actual account back from this?

Doppi I did a ticket originally from this account email, and I see the ticket connected to this account. The over 3 weeks was from this email/account.
I was hopeful since I could do a forget password for this support account, that I could somehow access a way to get my actual discord account back, but it looks like that isn't possible without Discord supports help.0 -
The exact same thing happened to me, and I still have no support after 42 days. I'm not sure if I'll ever get assistance with my account. Those hackers are only getting away with it because of the discords' lack of support and security. They need to hire real people for these real problems.

Was the exe you downloaded called “Senpalia.exe”? Because that's the exe file that got my Discord account. Also, my Discord account that was hacked was “Rovenami#6503”
