My friend got their discord account hacked.
So about 3 weeks ago my friend got his account hacked and he has submitted a ticket however what he got after waiting a week was it saying that “beyond our original support regarding this issue we cannot provide any further information or support via this channel”. So I am wondering if this means they gave up on trying to recover his account or they are actually working on recovering it and that he should wait.

Kinda sounds like he gave them some wrong information or the hacker changed his email.

Doppi Well the hacker did change the email associated with the discord account but I think thats it

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm willing to guess your friend fell for a scam similar to the one that I did.
I have been waiting 3 days as of right now, and still I have yet to hear back from any of Discord's Support Staff.
So far, I do not have a lot of positive things to say about them.0 -
Hello y'all. I'm the friend that Alex90 is referring to.
So let me tell you all what happened: On March 19, I got a message from someone who I had on my friend list but haven't talked to for a while, and they claimed that they accidentally reported my account instead of someone else for illegal purchases and scamming, and told me i had 12 hours to do something before action was taken. A screenshot was sent by them, which included an email that looks like it was officially from Discord, where it shows who i should contact to resolve the issue.I sent a friend request to the user in question in order to do something and I got in contact with them. I showed them the screenshot of the “Email” and they dropped a list for me to fill while they claim they were checking the ticket and scanning my account. The list included name, age, email, phone number connected to the account and country.
I filled everything and they claim the database detected multiple reports of illegal activity, like illegal purchases and that the account connected with the email, as well as the IP, would be permanently suspended if I didn't prove to them if I was not involved in any fraud/scam. They also claim that the user who performed the reports provided a follow-up statement that I was not involved, but as part of their process, I needed to comply with the terms of service so they could put proper documents in order to revoke the report claims under my name and Discord account. They claimed that if i did not change my email, the account might be detected and the IP might be banned permanently. They tell me to change my normal email to a burner one they would provide so that they could connect it to the system and prevent the account from getting banned for no reason, and that they would temporarily delete the reports in the account.
This is where the entire mess begun: They provided the burner email to me so I could change it from my original email. Now, i'm not sure how it went again, but the least i could remember was something like this: request#123456+randomusergmail.com or something like that, and that is an example email, not an actual one.
As soon as i changed it, i completely lost access to the account, and they immediately changed the email again as soon as they got control of it, locking me from logging in for good with my normal email or the burner one, and i'm not sure what else did they change, like password and phone number, among other things. Hell, i don't even know if they added 2FA since i can't even log into the account in the first place. They said that I should make another account to still contact them, and so I did under another email that i have. When all of this was done, they asked me stuff regarding online banking and payment methods, and that is where I knew it was all a trap. I don't have any payment methods connected to the account, and I never asked someone else ] to buy something for me.
I know, I should be blaming myself for falling into this, but here is a thing: i wasn't aware of this type of scam at all before, and i'm usually cautious about scams. I know about the fake free nitro scam and suspicious links, among others, but this one? This was new for me, it was the first time i encounter such scam, and i was very worried and confused about why, like i never did any purchases nor i scam anyone, and the fact that this notice came from someone who I have on the friends list and not someone I don't recall having contact with before nor have them on the friend list did not help either.
It has been 3 weeks since that happened and i've been waiting for any answers about recovering my account. On the tickets I sent, the first thing I get are replies saying that my ticket was escalated and that they would look further into the issue, and after like a week of waiting, all i get is an automated response telling me that they guys are "unable to provide any information or support on this channel", like seriously? Me still unable to access my account is known as “Solved”? And it's making me question too much if they are really analyzing my situation at all. Plus, the replies about escalating my account are convincing me that they are automated because they are literally the same responses with no small changes at all, and that in the end, nothing is being done at all.
The support is being an absolute clown show, man.0 -
Hey XanRail
Your story is somehow EXACTLY what happened to me. I've been waiting for 5 days now and the supports also told me the exact same thing they told you. Discord service sucks.

I know, even after explaining the issue in the most descriptive way as possible, I still get this unhelpful response… like what the hell else do they need??? I have provided enough information and evidence about what happened for god sakes, and it's no wonder why hackers find Discord a heaven to do their mischievous tomfoolery: The support team is just as unreliable as the Northstar V8, hell, even that's an insult to such engine that I would bet it's at least a bit more reliable than them.
Also, related and not related to the same time: Could It also be the username that delays things? Because that part has left me asking if I still use the discriminators or not, since they haven't changed that section ever since the controversial decision of removing them.0 -
XanRail, do you have a new account?
If yes i wanna know more because its becoming a little too similar than what happened to me
