Ability to link games to channels in a server
I feel it would be cool if you could make it so discord uses the same information that says you own a game, to register that to your account. Then server admins could easily setup channels in servers so only those that own the game, can access a given channel.
ie. If I dont own/play Rainbow Six Siege, then I cannot join (or maybe even see) a voice channel meant for Rainbow Six. Then once I buy/play the game for the first time with Discord open, it will unlock my permissions so that I can join the voice channel for Rainbow Six. Then if a server admin decided I didn't play the game frequently enough (or for any other reason) they could revoke my permissions.
I feel this would add a level of insurance and organization as to who can join a VC (esspecially in a large server) while I'm playing a game and almost insure that those that join, could wind up playing the game with me instead of interupting my play session. As of right now, the Discord server I'm an admin in has all of the game specific channels locked to game based roles, and a mod is required to manually update the roles as people get the games. It also wouldn't be to far of a jump to make it so I can mention (@) the people that play a certain game so I can notify people that might want to play.

Temporary workaround if you really need something akin to this:
It may require a custom bot, but a bot that could detect when a user has changed their playing status to fit that of the official game in question and automatically apply the relevant roles would work.
No idea if the Discord team have any intentions of adding this in the future, as it seems like a feature that would only be useful to some server owners. But for now, there's a workaround that should do the trick :)

My current work around to this is that I have locked channels that people can only access with a certain role, ie. Rainbow Six Siege Channels, have a Rainbow Six Players role that allows access. This works for my small server of some friends, and friends of friends, but in larger servers that I am an admin in, this method doesn't work as well because there are typically to many requests for new roles. A bot would be a more practical, however difficult it would be to code and host, but if I need a solution, I am willing to put in the effort.

That's the thing - not great, but it *would* work if you really need it

It's very easy to do with a bot, Jeeves does it for me. Check the RoleAssign setup
