GIF Favorite star

I can find people whining about the existence of the gif button. About the heaviness of the gif picker. About the fact that the submenus exist...

But as a small pixel art animator, the favorite star itself on the gifs itself is what irks me. I want to turn it off because it covers up too much of the canvas; it seems to be ~25x25 pixels regardless of the size of the image. I don't want to have to add 40 pixels of blank void space on the right hand size to make sure that the favorite star doesn't cover up space that I'm using.
