Option to stop gifs moving under spoilers
The spoiler tag is great not only for blocking spoilers (as its intended use) but stops people from seeing messages that may be potentially triggering. Regarding text and still images, it works just as well - however, gifs (specifically, flashing gifs) still move under the spoiler filter, which could still trigger something such as an epileptic seizure among my flash-sensitive friends.
I've seen some epilepsy-aware posts, but none of them (as far as I'm aware) mention utilising the spoiler function as a way to help stop triggering people. My proposal is to either stop gifs moving under spoiler filters entirely (at least, until they're clicked on by the recipients), or to add a tick-box option upon uploading that stops it from moving, so that other gifs could still move if people want them to.

It's been a year the issue was reported, still no sign of progress when it comes to fixing this issue.
I'd like to add that the spoiler blur should prevent GIF from playing, but they should also start playing once the spoiler blur is lifted, which isn't the case right now, it instead stops it from playing, you have to enlarge it so it plays.

Would like to add that on mobile it's completely oblique, while on desktop it's translucent. Not sure why

I actually submitted this as an issue because of the discrepancy between versions. Some servers want to be able to block the seizure-inducing gifs to help users with that type of illness.

agree, but imho it should be like other websites where the gif (or any other} just stops moving automatically without having to use a command or other function. it is kinda minor, but still important to some as you said, Epilepsy can be an issue. but not just them, other ppl that rather not have it move constantly should have a function of some kind to stop it moving. they are great to have and use, but some refrain from using because they constantly move.
