Attach Files without Send Messages permission

 At the moment, it is needed to have the Send Messages permission enabled in order to attach files. I think this really needs to be changed because attachment files shouldn't be put in the same category with text messages.

 You currently can make a Text Messages only channel but not an Attachment Files only channel. If I wanted members to submit only images/files and not being able to send text messages, it is currently not possible. 

 I think changing it so Attachment Files act as their own different thing from Text Messages is no down side and gives more freedom to owners of discord servers to manipulate their servers in more creative ways. (ex: Hosting a contest in which people would submit images; owners being able to turn off the text so images are easy to reach and do not get lost through the text messages and stay organized; etc.)

 I find this a necessary change for Discord in order to use it at a further level.

    I agree with that. It would be very helpfull for me, if you could realize that. I have the same problems. I need a section where members are only able to upload pictures. I would be very thankful.

    We have a show off channel. And I would love to see it work that people can send/ Attache their files but disable them from chatting in the channel by disabling send text message.
    That doesn't work now sadly.

    Bumping. This would be a great option to have in photography specific discords.

    Edit: To clarify in artistic discords having a central place for discussion apart from where works are submitted is useful and doesn't take away from the genre/theme of the channel while people critique elsewhere. I've been thinking about writing a !submit function for a bot as a workaround however I would like to see this in discord natively. In the mean time I'll start hacking a bot together for this.

    Bumping - I have a channel where people can post pet pictures but don't want folks to actually chat in there.. would be nice to just allow the picture upload with a comment and allow people to react and that's all...

    We have a channel in which people are supposed to post pictures only. Even though is says big and clear it is pictures only (and even slow mode is enable), we have folks on a daily basis that try to break the rules and chat instead.
    Implementing this feature would make my life a lot easier!

    Why has this been a topic for 3 years and still it is an ongoing issue? It would be so easy of a setting to create. Please make this happen.
