Idea for “private” Discord Accounts

Users such as @Ninja try to keep their discord account private (I assume with Ninja, at least.) But I think there should be an option to have a private Discord account for friends, and a public one (that can be used in servers for example). My idea is that the “public” profile doesn’t necessarily have to be a separate profile exactly, but maybe a setting that the discord tag is hidden, it cannot be DM’d unless added (which would be impossible without the user giving their tag to you). I think this would really help out larger creators who would still like to be a part of some communities, but wouldn’t have to worry about having to create alternate accounts with different names or being spammed with @‘s.

  this is a bad idea. just create a alt account.

  Most of the thing the "private" account will do is in the user settings, not all of them.
