~ before @ gives entire server index to mention (Syntax ~@qfglenn)
I own and moderate in servers with private staff channels. Sometimes when I want to privately warn a user I have to go to a channel they can see to mention them.

Wouldn't it be nice if typing something like ~@ gives the list of all members on the server instead of the ones just in the channel?
Thanks for your time.

In other words, typing ~@DougTheDog6 would notify me in a channel I normally don't have access to (or at least I think that's what he's trying to say lol)

@DougtheDog Not quite, what I mean is let's say I need to use a discord bot warn to you for breaking the rules in my server. And let's say I want to process this warn in a staff channel so otger members dont see it.
At this time I have to mention the user in a channel they can see and then copy it and paste it into the staff channel. When I use @ it only pulls up users in the channel and I want a command that lets me access all users regardless of channel for staff.

you can take the user ID...
<@UserID> will be ping the concerned user

Ah yeah I know. You have to enable developer mode and then you can right click them provided you're in a channel they are in ans you have a message they sent there handy. The larger a server I is however the more difficult it is to get.
For example an easy way to get the ID is to \@mention them, bit you can only do this if you can mention them which means I need to go to a channel they are in, mention them without sending a message, and then copy and paste that after a slash in a private channel.
Basically I feel like at least the server owner and admins should be able to do this in one step.
