Y'all killed the verified developer badge without a warning
So here's the deal. Some random people just paid some money to get themselves the nice looking verified dev badge. To prevent this from happening, Discord wants to stop giving those badges to anyone who submits for verification after Aug 19. And this wasn't previously announced either. So now, what so we have? All those whales that got their badges without working for it get to keep em and we, who've been working on making a good bot and seeing that badge as a motivation no longer get to receive it. There are two things they could've done:
• They could've announced this change prior and given us some time. Every other unverified developer, including me, now wouldn't get the badge that we thought could be obtained anytime, or at least before October. They could just extend a deadline for verification to a few days, or at least October 7 coz of course that's when the planned big updates strike!
• As for the other option, the harsh one, just entirely remove the badge. This is pretty unfair for the early devs who spent lots of time and dedication on their bots, but at the same time, Discord's current decision hits us hard ngl. I respect Discord's decision and it was entirely right of them to stop the badge. But well, it just seems rushed. Like nobody had the idea this was ever gonna happen, at least before October.
Edit: Wait that title might seem rude, so if you read this in a rude tone, I apologize. Please read again in a polite tone :>

Okay, this was mentioned like a 1000 times in the discord developers server: Verification is NOT about the badge. Verification is about being able to pass the 100-servers-limitation, if it starts at 07.october. Don't start attacking discord, imagine you're a developer making a bot and giving effort and time into it. Now you wanna verify, in the mean time, someone with the same or similar name came up and people decide to take that bot, instead yours. Woah. THAT is NOT fair. Deleting that badge was a good idea and who as it keeps it as well because it just happened. Now if they would've said "we're going to discontinue it in a month or week" would've lead enormous amounts of ppl making accounts and bots just for verification and badge.
<edit>
You want the badge, right? You know it's cool, right? Then let everyone who has it kept! If you know how "Supreme" it is, then don't try to take it away from us!

It is not easy for all OG programmers to get 75 servers and check their bots. I for example create bots since 2018, I am not known by the community or influential for my bot to reach the required goal in days, I spent months increasing the features, putting it in Bot Lists, and finally when I get to where I wanted the medal is removed. Okay, verification is not for the badge and it never will be, but people like me would feel much more recognized for their effort with that badge hanging on their profile.

If verification is not about the badge, then why are you complaining that the badge gets removed out of fairness?
Also remember that not every developer is on the Discord Developers server.

@AdminAtShmalle.xyz I agree the badge had to go. And I am not talking about the meaning of verification, rather the reward. For me, while I started making a bot just coz it would be fun, when I learned about the existence of the badge (which was only ages after my bot crossed the 75 server mark) it kinda served as motivation to work harder on my bot like who wouldn't like a cool badge on their profile while chilling with a cool bot? As discord is rn, people don't even believe you're a bot dev if you dont have the badge. Removing the badge without a notice even before the big changes is just sacrificing new devs so that you can be fair to old ones.
Also I ain't on the developers server lol.
(bruh it was kinda hard reading it in a polite tone with those caps)0
